Open call for soloists for WSC Kurashiki 2021
    Saxophone and chamber ensemble concert

 
The WSC Kurashiki 2021 Organizing Committee is organizing a concert for July 18, 2021 with conductor Yasuaki Itakura and the chamber ensemble Kunitachi Philharmoniker. We are looking for a wide range of soloists to perform concertos at this concert.
Applicants wishing to perform at this event should read the following requirements carefully, fill out the necessary information on the entry sheet, and send it in by the deadline of June 15, 2020.

Application Information:
 
1.The piece should be a concerto or a work that uses the Saxophone extensively with chamber orchestra, desirably a newer repertoire
   for this medium.
   The piece should last no longer than 20 minutes.
 
2.We are seeking 5 soloists for this concert.
 
3.The instrumentation of the chamber ensemble is as follows.The piece may use all or part of the ensemble.
　
　2 Vln, 1 Vla, 1 Vcl, 1 Cb / 1 Fl (Picc, Alto Fl), 1 Ob (Cor Anglais), 1 Cl (Bass Cl, E♭), 1 Fg (Contra Fg)
　1 Hr, 1 Tp, 1 Tb (Bass Tb) / Perc (3 players max) / Pf (Celesta) / Harp / Live Electronics
 
4.Rehearsal with the chamber ensemble will take place on July 13-14 at Kunitachi college of Music in Tachikawa, Tokyo.

5.Selected soloists will need to pay the registration fee for WSC Kurashiki 2021, just as any other participant does.
  Neither performances nor Travel and performance fees for rehearsals will be paid by the WSC Kurashiki 2021 Organizing Committee.
 
6.Along with the entry sheet, one copy of the bound score or a PDF file of the score saved on a portable media such as CD or USB flash memory
   is required. The committee would prefer that a recording and/or movie of the piece also be sent.
  Please note that these sent items will not be returned.
 
7.Conductor Yasuaki Itakura and The WSC Kurashiki 2021 Organizing Committee will select soloists and pieces.
   Yasuaki Itakura will be in charge of music selection.  
   After the soloists have been selected, any inquiries on the selection process will not be responded to.
 
8.Each selected soloists must prepare a bound score and parts for the each orchestra member for each performance scheduled.
